This week: Robbie Rabah.
He’s a designer, artist, and Art Director with a BA in Interior Architecture. He has been working as an Interior Architect for more than a decade and has experience in residential, commercial, and hospitality design.
When asked, “What’s your favorite style?” he said:
“I like the classic style; it’s older than traditional selections and it’s timeless. In order to really understand all the different design styles, you have to master the classic style first… You have to understand the history of design to change and develop it into the future. Once you master the classic style, it’s easier to grow into all different styles.”
He said that the classic style was more luxurious, and you get a real, “bang for your buck”. He mentioned that it’s challenging, and it takes more time and effort to design and manufacture. This segues into his reason for why he loves to design…
“I am self-motivated and like to accomplish challenges thrown my way. It drives me to work and reach perfection with all my designs and daily life. Perfection may be daunting to others, but it is simply striving to accomplish the best while knowing you will always be pursuing this ongoing goal.
He is currently working on a custom, independent hotel in San Antonio, TX. It is a historical structure and there were regulations on what could be changed and what needed to remain. While creating a new modern design, he enjoyed focusing on historic preservation.
